You can do anything at CHAI Fi!

Chugim meet for 40 minutes a day for a full week. Different chugim led by different mechanchim (leaders) are offered each week. A full schedule of chugim is available on our registration page.

You can register your child for as many chugim (activities) as you'd like. Each chug is $40, which covers the cost of our mechanchim (leaders). A minimum of five participants must be enrolled for each chug to be offered.

Backyard Biology

A fun and entertaining take on biology, where campers will explore new and exciting ways to appreciate the environment. Learn tips and tricks to grow plants, and travel with Beca to different parts of her community, such as the canal behind her apartment, to see all the biology that is right in our own backyards! Study insect and animal life, and learn interesting facts about animals in your area. Campers will finish the summer with a new understanding and appreciation of nature and wildlife.

In this class we will learn how to make yummy food for us and our family and friends! Together we will make vegetable and fruit salads, eggs, bread, pizza, Burekas, and many different types of desserts. We will also learn how to call our ingredients and the kitchenware in Hebrew. This class will teach you how to accomplish to break an egg perfectly, how to mix the right way, how to work with dough and how to be safe in the kitchen while having fun cooking.

Song Writing

Have you ever thought about writing your own words to songs? Many young people are bursting with creative energy that can be transformed into original words or lyrics! There are many song lyric writing approaches and techniques that will enable writers of all skill levels to explore their inner creativity. This class will explore various techniques and approaches to song lyric writing through study of musical styles and genres, lyric and poetry games, and a zoom “performance”. Students will complete the class having written at least two new lyrics of songs to perform for family and friends.

Develop and test your knowledge of physics with funny and exciting experiments. Use the scientific method to make predictions and observations about the physical world around you. Campers will join Beca in doing experiments and building structures to understand and witness the interaction between different kinds of waves (sound, light, and heat). Bootcamp Workout

Bootcamp workout is an interval training class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. It also combines different disciplines like stretching, aerobics and cardio-kickboxing that help children gain strength, coordination, self-confidence, overcome fears, and much more. Most importantly, it helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun!

Jewish Musical Theatre

In this class, students will learn about the history of great Jewish Broadway composers and learn about performing through hands-on experience. Each student will be assigned a song or monologue either from a Jewish-centered musical, such as Fiddler on the Roof, or a song by a Jewish composer. They will learn about the song and the shows origins, and incorporate that information into their performance. We will workshop their pieces and help them feel confident performing and about their Jewish culture as it relates to musical theatre.

A class focused on combining lessons about inner and outer beauty, with activities geared toward teaching the importance of putting your best foot forward, while developing and expressing personal style in unique ways. Learn fun techniques to express creativity through nail art, hair styles, and accessories. This year is all about healthy self care habits, so campers will beautify their souls with DIY face mask and spa tutorials. Beauty with Beca is the class that Beca herself wishes she could have gone to as a child. Campers will find out what “beauty” means to them personally, and learn the importance of being beautiful, inside and out.
